Biographie :
George E. Hyde est né à Omaha dans le Nebraska et y a vécu toute sa vie. La maladie l'a handicapé et il a tenu une librairie. La passion de sa vie fut l'histoire des Indiens d'Amérique, en particulier des Sioux et des Pawnee. Il a écrit cinq livres sur les Indiens ainsi qu'une vie de George Bent, historien à demi indien qui participa à la guerre contre les Américains.
