Biographie :
Susan Vreeland est nouvelliste et romancière.
Elle est diplômée d'un BA en sciences de l'information et des bibliothèques de l'Université d'État de San Diego (1969) et d'un MA d'anglais en 1978.
Elle a enseigné pendant trente ans la littérature anglaise au lycée à San Diego, en Californie.
Elle a publié des nouvelles et de nombreux articles sur l'art. Son premier roman, "La jeune fille en bleu jacinthe" ("Girl in Hyacinth Blue", 1999), a été traduit dans le monde entier.
