17 histoires de vampires rassemblées par Ellen Datlow, ce recueil a attiré mon attention. Comme dans toute anthologie, on trouve du bon et du moins bon. Celle-ci m'a laissé une curieuse impression, parce que j'y ai trouvé de l'excellent et du très mauvais. Pas vraiment d'à peu près. On passe de la haute voltige à l'ennuyeux et fastidieux. Et le gore est vraiment gore. Ça passe parfois pour moi... pas cette fois. Pourtant, j'en ai lu, des passages très limite dans certains bouquins, alors il m'en faut beaucoup, mais j'ai trop ressenti la surenchère.
Mais passons, les excellentes nouvelles, magistrales, font passer la pilule. En particulier, The sea was wet as wet could be, To feel another's woe, Down among the dead men...
Je ne sais pas comment noter ce recueil, de ce fait, alors je vais lui mettre la moyenne, puisque ça reflète mon impression sur l'ensemble des récits.
Notez que ça doit être la toute première fois que j'écris un retour en français sur un ouvrage n'ayant pas été traduit. Je ne sais pas ce qui est préférable, en fait.
