Citation de Anakinoa

I thought of Artemis, letting me be raised in her forest, satisfaction writ across her face when she told me of Arethusa's spring, when she transformed Callisto, when she demanded my promise and sent me away. I thought of the bear who had taken me from the mountainside, how when she wanted rid of the cubs she'd nutured, she turned on them, chasing them away so that she could be free. I thought of the queen who had given birth to me, but hadn't fought to keep me.

Those were the mothers I knew.
