The best way that I know to visually "call" a dog to come is to bend down as if in a doggie play bow, turn away from your dog, and clap. Your version of a play bow is the closest signal there is in canine language to encourage your dog to come to you. After all, dogs are no signal among themselves that means "come over here right away".
