A rare punk mix of rage and tenderness in this story of a young bisexual girl trying to find love and relief.

This 2008 graphic novel is a punk tale about the ways a young bisexual Cuban-American girl is trying to find love and to simply exist in 1998-2001 New York City.

"I drank consecutive martinis in a stewing rage. I walked into the bathroom stall and did enough cocaine to kill the misleading sense of love that's assisted by moderate snorting. I did enough to become a terrible human being, forgetting the potency of future loves, forgetting the worth of vulnerability and tenderness. Compromising every sincere connection to myself, blood from my nostrils settled on my top lip. Iwas no longer defenseless and no longer earnest, but a little suirmy mass of antagonism that cultivated anger enough for the entire universe."

An incredible mix of rage, bitterness, lucidity, tenderness and friendly / loving care, using a harsh hyperrealistic illustration style, really worth your interest and curiosity.
