Virginia blinked and opened her eyes the whole way. The trees before her weren't part of any forest. They were a small grove on this side of Central Park in the middle of the most urban environment in the world - New York City, land of the concrete jungle, a place where sunshine was rare and exhaust fumes ruled. She could smell them now, toxic and foul.
