Biographie :

the reality of V.D.

There is no ghost in the machine, no entity, no work closed for ever, coherently elaborated in time as the perfect image of the artist or the distant creation of a documentary practice. There is no book, light or capacity which should not be a mouvement, sensibility as a real fiction, strong empathy. This is something I should write maybe here, to begin with the concept of self, the wrong idea of Descartes, the nature of my life always stuck by the train of thoughts and emotions. What beauty beyond, what outstanding relative nature of a simple name in the dust of life, moment after moment, days, months, years ! The joy of being no one but a peaceful change with chaos.

For me, V.D. is more collective than Vincent Delbrouck, that’s why I use it here and there. And this website, I hope, can show you the beauty of being more than a "I", collecting forms and interconnections. This is what I want to give you, with a joyful taste of consciousness.

Due to the evolving nature of my art practice, which inhabits an intuitive flow of my experiences, here and abroad, the current working categories are sometimes only organizational tools, subject to changes and new interconnections. Some series are still works/editings in progress. So is the imperfect nature of this website to welcome you again and again... for new discoveries, I hope.

The writings on selections in this website include extensive PDF and Word downloads for further reading about my work. I wish to thank all the curators, writers and journalists who took the time to write those beautiful texts.

I also want to thank Isa for her precious help in the construction of this website.
