This book was easy to read and the perfect length for me—not too long, not too short. I loved the inclusion of Anishinaabemowin words and phrases, the dreams, the Nanabush story (Scootch over, Wile E. Coyote!), the community support, the people helping each other, and the importance of laughter. It reminded me of my grandparents and great-aunts and uncles with all their wisdom and fun stories, and precious knowledge of life before the comforts. And what an awesome scary story is Moon of the Crusted Snow!
