Most of these teachers and engineers and doctors [ East Germans, Cubans, Czechs, and Chinese ] did not speak Kiswahili, or English, or Arabic, or even Gujerati, any one of which might have made it possible for them to be understood. It would be nice to say that this created an opportunity for a great deal of fun, but it didn't, not if you needed your tonsils seen to or you were in a diabetic coma.
