Critique de Margot_Navares

It's the story of Kenneth, a romantic idealist Russian literature specialist whose love goes altogether to his uncle, a man of genius, a renowned botanist, a rare one who, according to the narrator, had happened to succeed in the business of having an existence that is worth living because it is somehow a « turning point ». What is at stake here is Kenneth and maybe the entire world's soul. Young Russian teacher takes the unfortunate bet of his life placing it, based on his fate, in his botanist uncle's hands who apparently only could have « saved » it.

The title is not well chosen. In a world so lost that the strongest love possible ends up being the filial one between a nephew and his uncle, who could still actually die of a heartbreak ?

I can hardly appreciate this style of writing - this kind of neurotic narration, ironical point of view - but I have to admit that in MDOH I laughed out loud a few times. I guess I liked it. Very original, this satyre of the American culture is made with a lot of sensitivity and wits.

Well, it's the least we can say when the novel really lacks the "balls".
