Harry Bosch meets Mickey Haller...

The newest novel of Michael Connelly, published last autumn, amplifies the feast of recurring characters that is becoming a trademark since 5 or 6 "episodes". Harry Bosch is here the Police investigator (prosecution-side of course) for the retrial of a convicted child murderer, the prosecution being led by... Mickey Haller, the famous (and attaching) "Lincoln" defense lawyer who was recently the most prominent of Connelly's heroes.

A not-so-classic legal thriller, with nice tricks all along. A small disappointment however, since it is (relatively) short, with only 390 pages, and thus lacks time to focus, as was most often the case recently, on psychological aspects of the various protagonists. The character fragmentation, not damaging at all on 600 or 800 pages, is here somewhat frustrating.

A good read however, and a must for Harry Bosch and Mickey Haller aficionados.
