Kate Carlisle a travaillé plusieurs années dans la production audiovisuelle avant de se consacrer entièrement à l'écriture.
"Homicide in Hardcover", son premier roman et le premier tome de la série "Bibliophile Mystery", a été publié en 2010. Elle est auteure de deux séries de romans policiers, dont l'une ("Fixer-Upper Mysteries") a été adaptée à la télévision, ainsi que de romances.

(...) I didn't like to read books on a screen. As a bookbinder, I was partial to holding the book in my hand. I liked the feel of paper and leather and cloth. But I wasn't about to judge anyone else's choices when it came to reading. Any contraption that got people to read was a good thing.
