Sometimes, at the end of the day, I climb to the top of the big tree and play that I'm the only person in the world. If I look one way, the sea runs out till it meets the sky. But the other way, the land goes on till the sun sets.

Elle lui montra l'enveloppe froissée et salie, ornée de timbres grecs et d'une écriture laborieuse, la tenant comme si c'était un objet magique. Puis, d'un geste vif, elle en sortit une photo d'elle-même menant Poppy, sa chèvre marron et blanche.
Sur la photo, Yaya avait l'air solide comme un roc sombre. Elle souriait de toutes ses dents en or, les yeux fixés droit sur l'objectif tandis que Poppy broutait l'herbe. L'oncle Tasso avait pris la photo un an plus tôt, juste avant qu'elle ne parte et la lui avait envoyée au cas où elle aurait le mal du pays.
… Au cas où...
Mais elle avait tout le temps le mal du pays ! Et la photo de Poppy ne faisait qu'aggraver les choses.
