The Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston: This book to me was like one of those awesome movies that you would have never chosen for yourself, one that ends up marking you so deeply you know you will never be able to forget it, but for the first 20 minutes of it you're distracted by flickering cellphones, flying popcorn and people leaving the theatre. I'm glad I persevered. And I am haunted.
