Une "comédie" romantique de Noël qui ne casse franchement pas de briques. Bien qu'agréable et facile à lire, et de plusieurs façons plus inclusive que la moyenne, la romance n'en reste pas moins assez problématique et les personnages secondaires assez peu réalistes et attachants. Toute l'intrigue et l'intérêt tiennent à sa protagoniste Vivian, à qui on souhaitait une plus chouette rencontre que Malcolm en définitive. Voguant de clichés en clichés sur les différences US vs. UK, "Royal holiday" est somme toute assez décevant.
