Desolation, tome 1 : The Rejected King

I started reading this story because I was a fan of the selection when I was younger and couldn't find a book that treated things more or less the same way. So I loved the world that was described to us; a bit post-apocalyptic.
The characters are super endearing, although I kind of regretted that the story was written in the third person singular. This way, I have more difficulty to represent the characters psychologically.
Either way, the chemistry between the protagonists was wonderful. I had butterflies in my stomach several times in my reading.
The story is predictable, but I was able to relax while reading it and that's all I needed!
