Je me suis lancée un petit défi pour cette semaine : lire approximativement 250 pages par jour.... J'ai donc commencé avec ce livre, et l'ai donc dévoré en majorité en une aprem.
On suit donc Lina, trois ans après s'être faite larguée le jour de son mariage, par le biais du frère de son fiancé. Sauf que, dans le présent, elle doit collaborer avec eux, surtout le frère, Max, le fameux worst best man, pour réussir à obtenir un nouveau travail. L'ambiance...
J'ai beaucoup aimé ce livre, j'ai passé un super moment, même si je ne pense pas qu'il me laissera un souvenir de fou, c'est une belle petite rom-com pour passer un bon moment.
Il se lit très vite, le couple est super mignon, j'ai particulièrement aimé le moment où ils se retrouvent bloqués et doivent parler de leur problème de couple devant d'autres couples. Très brouillon dit comme ça, mais si vous l'avez lu, vous saurez de quel moment je parle.
C'est donc une belle petite romance, j'aurais aimé un petit peu plus d'approfondissement en ce qui concerne le personnage d'Andrew, surtout sur les raisons de sa fuite le jour du mariage, mais bon, le livre se concentrait surtout sur Lina et Max, donc je peux comprendre que l'autrice ne l'ait pas fait.

I wish you wouldn’t use other people as the yardstick for your own success. Even in the short time I’ve known you, I can see that you’re an incredible person in your own right. Competing with someone else isn’t going to help you find what you’re searching for. You need to compete with yourself. When you’re looking to improve, refer to the last and best thing you did and go from there.
I fell into the trap of thinking the armor Lina had developed for herself was a bad thing. But, after our time at Surrey Lane Farm, I think Lina owes a large measure of her success to her skill in using that armor to her advantage if and when she needs it. Who she lets into her life, who she cries in front of, who she lets behind her walls, who she shares her emotions with, is ultimately her choice. And it doesn’t diminish what she brings to the table; it just allows her to navigate different environments while remaining within her comfort zone.
He’s that friend you always find your way back to, the one who knows all your secrets and doesn’t care that you’re flawed, the one who’s seen your "before" pictures because he’s in them.
