Fan depuis des années de K.A. Tucker, avec ses séries Ten Tiny Breaths (Respire, Mentir, Saisir) et Burying Water, j'étais vraiment heureuse de pouvoir découvrir son dernier roman.
L'auteure elle-même nous prévient qu'UNTIL IT FADES est différent de ce qu'elle a l'habitude d'écrire. En effet, cette histoire est un peu plus « fleur bleue », moins dramatique par exemple que Respire, Mentir ou Saisir, mais elle n'en est pas moins très agréable à lire.
Les personnages sont réellement attachants, le rythme est bien mené et sans temps morts.
C'est une sorte de conte de Cendrillon des temps modernes, avec sa part de réalité, ses rebondissements, ses moments de tendresse, d'humour et bien sûr de passion.
Catherine est loin d'avoir eu une vie facile, ses relations avec sa famille, notamment avec sa mère, sont très compliquées, mais elle a toujours su faire preuve de courage et surtout d'une grande intégrité. Quant à Brett, c'est vraiment l'homme idéal, mais chacun appartient à un monde bien différent, ce qui rend leur histoire encore plus difficile sur le long terme.
K.A. Tucker a su écrire une Cendrillon des temps modernes, avec sa touche personnelle, son excellente plume, pour en fait un succès garanti.
Une très agréable lecture, et une facette inattendue de l'auteure.
