This essay is very interesting, it develops some points about how our brain reacts when we talk with a person in every way : speak with voice, body signals, brain signals… All these languages are very important, and they all have a role to play. I loved this book because it explains the importance of empathy in life which is very important for me.

Self-absorption in all its forms kills empathy, let alone compassion. When we focus on ourselves, our world contracts as our problems and preoccupations loom large. But when we focus on others, our world expands. Our own problems drift to the periphery of the mind and so seem smaller, and we increase our capacity for connection - or compassionate action.
